Welcome to Eythorne Baptist, a Christ centred family church located in the heart of Kent. We are a warm and welcoming community, offering great bible teaching and something for everyone. Our church is a place where people of all ages can come together to worship, learn, and grow in their faith.

At Eythorne Baptist, our mission is to spread the love and gospel of Jesus Christ to our local community and beyond. We are committed to serving others, sharing the gospel, and making a positive impact in the world.

Our core values revolve around Jesus, including love, compassion, and unity. We believe in the power of the Bible, the benefits of Christian fellowship and the importance of supporting one another. At Eythorne Baptist, we strive to live as Christ in everything we do.

Called to serve
There are many that serve our Lord, in many different ways at Eythorne Baptist Church. Including youth work, tech team, worship group, serving tea and coffee, site maintenance, etc.
The section below shows a small number of those that serve, including our pastors and deacons, along with treasurer, safety officer and safeguarding officer.
Senior Pastor

Nigel Richardson retired from this position in April 2026. We are currently looking for a lead pastor (see Vacancies).
Assistant Pastor
Mike Cole
After 20 years in North Wales, Mike and his family moved to Kent to Join EBC in 2022 having previously served as the assistant pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mold. Mike is currently fulfilling the role as Lead Paster
Elder
Ted Allright
Retired from more than 50 years in the ministry, including in Northern Italy. Rev Alright was the pastor of EBC between 1993 and 2006. Ted has studied and written about the very interesting history of EBC.
Church Secretary & Deacon
Mannetta Leigh-Fergusson
Mannetta has lived in the village and served EBC for many years, appointed to deacon in 2018. Mannetta is also our church secretary.

Jeff Green
Jeff's background in finance provides him the experience to service as treasurer (with Martyn), along with being a deacon, a lay preacher and assists in youth work.

Tony Green
Married to Rachel (who plays the piano), Tony is a lay Preacher, in the tech team, the worship group, leads the silver band and has been a deacon since 1999. Tony is a keen motorcyclist and volunteers on a SU holiday.

Chris Lockie
Chris is married to Polly, he serves as a deacon and lay preacher. For a number of years Chris has been the 'front-man' for our Holiday Bible Club.

Andrew Powell
Andrew serves as a deacon, assists with site maintenance and serves as a Lay Preacher. Andrew is married to Anita (youth leader). Andrew works for the NHS in the Ambulance Service

Treasurer and Safeguarding Officer
Martyn Jenkins
Martyn does an excellent job as treasurer (with Jeff) in looking after our finance, Martyn also serves as part of our Tech Team. Married to Alex (who assists with the youth work). Martyn also does a great BBQ

Neil Wiggins
Neil, married to Laurna, is our safety officer, and looks after our risk assessments. Neil also serves as a Lay preacher and plays in the Silver Band.
